Dhal Makhani Recipe

Dhal Makhani Recipe

Ingredients
1 cup whole urad daal (urad sabut)
1tbsp Red kidney beans (Rajma)
1 onion finely chopped
1 tomato finely chopped
1" Ginger piece
2-3 green chilies finely chopped
chopped coriander leaves
4-5 flakes Garlic paste
1/2 cup stirred curd
1/2 cup fresh stirred cream (malai)
2tbsp butter
1tsp cumin seeds (jeera)
1/2tsp turmeric powder
1/2tsp Garam masala
Red chili powder to taste
1/2tsp dhania powder
Salt to taste

Method

Soak kidney beans overnight in water. Put urad daal & kidney beans with water & a little salt in a pressure cooker & cook for about 25 minutes.
Mash the mixture & again cook for 15-20 minutes. Add cream & curd to the daal. Heat oil in a kadhai. Saute cumin seeds & add garlic paste.
Fry the paste till light brown. Add onions & saute till golden brown. Add tomatoes , ginger & green chillies.
Fry till tomatoes turn soft.
Now add turmeric powder , coriander powder , chili powder & salt. Fry for a few minutes. Reduce the flame to medium . Add daal & stir.
Remove from the flame as soon as it begins to boil. Add garam masala powder. Garnish with chopped coriander leaves & add a dash of butter.
