Ingredients
Rice- 2 cups basmati
1 chopped onion
Pinch of turmeric
4 cups chicken stock
2 cardamompods and a few strands of saffron.
Almonds, pistachios,cashew and raisins to taste.
Method:
- Rice washed, drained and lightly fried in ghee/butter with chopped onion, bruised cardamom pods, turmeric, or saffron threads, a few cloves and boiling chicken stock.
-For the last 5 mins of cooking time add chopped cashews, or pistachios or toasted, flaked almonds and raisins or sultanas.
-After it is cooked, add rosewater to taste.
