Simple mutton pulao

Plain Mutton Pilaau
Ingredients:
1/2 kg mutton
1/3 cup oil
1 medium sized onion
6 small potatoes
1 large tomato
3 whole green chillies
1 1/2 cups rice
3/4 cup peas
1 1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp turmeric
1 tsp ginger/garlic
1 tsp dhunia/jeero powder
1/2 tsp green pounded chillies
A few cloves and peppers
3 elachi (cardomom)
2 pieces stick cinnamon

Method:
-Cube mutton in small pieces, wash and drain.
- Fry sliced onion in ghee/oil till plae golden brown, and add mutton with all the spices to it. Cook slowly till meat is tender, adding water if necessary.
- Add tomato and potatoes and steam slowly till potatoes half done.

-Meanwhile, wash rice and cook in salted boiling water till half done. Drain well in colander.
-Add rice to stewing mutton, toss and mix lightly taking care not to break meat or getting the rice mushy. Add a little cold water if necessary and steamin oven or over slow heat for about half an hour.
- Brown a little onion in 2 or more tablespoon ghee and pour over rice just before serving.
